Help! Can you name your top 5 website features?

As you know we have been working on making changes to our BCC website. Some changes have already been implemented, but there is more to come. We are looking at a new website structure which will allow us to move to a new design and have new features. As we design the new website the development team would like to get your input. Please list the 3-5 features you believe are most important for our BCC Website. These can be design features, capabilities, links, really anything you believe would make our website meet the needs of BCC. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

  1. Hi everyone, I thought I would get the ball rolling. I like Grace Chapel's website. They categorize it based upon how a new visitor would want to find info. but it allows for deep dives into the ministries, too. http://www.grace.org/

  2. I'd like to see Google Calendars or ICal calendar links on the website that we could link to from home. There could be one for Men's Ministry, one for Women's Ministry, one for Bible Studies, one for the services, all church events, etc. That way we could selectively add those calendars into our personal online calendars. I know the Red Sox and Patriots and Mount Zion Chrisian School provide such calendars.

  3. 1. Less on the "Home Page" with menu selections to the left margin.
    2. Church Calendar of events -- out for 12 months.
    3. Keep it current! Updates by each "team" on a continuous basis!
    4. "About Bethany" and "Your 1st Visit" are the same! Perhaps one should be our "history" and the other what a visitor can expect - service hrs., nursery information, coffee hrs, Sunday School information, etc.
    5. "Contact Us" and "Staff" are the same page. Perhaps "Staff" should be elaborated with short bio of each member... picture optional.
    6. Keep ALL information current!!

  4. One of the first things I looked for was "where and when is Sunday School" (by grade level), and do you have a youth group? I found that info very hard to find.

  5. Another thought - a good deep search engine for the church site and it's links. If someone wants to find out something about the stands/beliefs of the church or when something is occurring, etc, it would be helpful to do a search on a particular term.
